An interview with James Trusler by Matthew Baird - (CEO - Look Mobile)

Who is James?

I am 31 years of age, and as the papers quoted "I have the fastest text messaging fingers in the nation".

How long have you been sending Text Messages for?

Over 9 years.

Do you use predictive text?

No, that slows me down. I find it faster not to use predictive txt (aka T9, dictionary, spell check)

How often do you send Text Messages?

Some would say, way too often

Why do you Text?

Good question and one that is often put to me.
I text because it is a fun and convenient way to communicate with someone. That someone may be in Australia or overseas. It gives the other person the flexibility to reply when they want to. I also find it faster to type a quick sentence than to phone someone.

What does James do?

I work for a Telecommunication company in Australia, and am currently seconded to Fiji islands.

Why is James on the web?

Part of my prize list for winning the Sony Ericsson Text Messaging Championships was the design of this webpage.
The guys at Gruden have done a great job - thank you team.

What does James get up to?

On the weekends I can usually be found enjoying the relaxing lifestyle in Fiji, where I am currently working.
Other popular things on my agenda would include live sporting events, musical shows, and concerts, wining and dining, having a few beers at the local and occasionally I may be spotted shaking it on the dance floor.
I also find time to study for my MBA.

Favourite movie?

That often changes, but off the top of my head a few that come to mind are, The Italian Job (original version), Grease, Enemy of the State and anything starring Adam Sandler.
I'm also a Bollywood fan, and favourite Bollywood movies are Munna Bhai MBBS (Mamu) and Kal Ho Na Ho.

Favourite singer?

I have a few, but Kylie Minogue is up definitely up there.

Quote of the day?

I admire those people who have a dream, and turn that dream into a reality.

Is there anything else you would like to say?

Thank you to my friends, family and colleagues, who, over the past 9 years have had to put up with me playing with my phones.
A special thank you has to go to my long term friends Chris and Dean.
